Devils on Horseback

It’s Christmas time and what better way to celebrate than with sweet, salty, fatty goodness! These devils on horseback are a great starter for a Christmas Day lunch paired with a simple mustard creme fraiche dip. Alternatively, they make an amazing hot or cold addition to a post-Christmas buffet – enjoy!

Ingredients
  

  • 250 g pitted dates
  • 11 rashers streaky bacon
  • 200 g creme fraiche
  • 1 tsp wholegrain mustard

Instructions
 

  • Start by slicing the bacon rashers into 3rds. You should now have enough mini-rashers to wrap 33 dates so get wrapping! Place on a baking tray in the centre of a pre-heated fan oven at 200°C for 20 minutes.
  • Mix the creme fraiche with the mustard in a bowl and voila you have a dip! Now the torture starts…Wait for the devils to cook and enjoy hot.
