BBQ Sauce

A lot of BBQ sauce recipes use ketchup but we're taking it right back to basics with this one and it's still as easy! This sticky sauce is sweet with maple syrup, smokey with paprika and has a kick from cayenne. It's the easiest recipe, just heat in a pan and play around with the ingredient quantities until you've found your perfect recipe.

Ingredients
 
 

  • 700 g passata
  • 1 tsp tomato puree
  • 8 tbsp dark brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 3 tsp garlic powder

Instructions
 

  • Add all of the ingredients to a large pot or pan over low heat and warm gently while stirring until combined. Continue to cook until the desired thickness is reached (approx. 15 minutes).
