Indulge in the sublime world of BBQ pork belly bites, where succulence meets smoky perfection. Imagine sinking your teeth into a symphony of taste sensations. Each bite offers a tantalizing balance between a satisfying crunch and a tender, melt-in-your-mouth experience. The artistry lies in the preparation.
Each BBQ pork morsel, meticulously prepared, starts with a pat-dry and a chop into inch-sized cubes.
A symphony of spices infuses the meat as a dry rub coats every crevice, creating a harmonious blend of paprika, brown sugar and garlic.
Roasted to tenderness in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for an hour, the bites emerge juicy and aromatic, ready for their second act.
Dressed in your favorite BBQ sauce, they return to the heat for an additional 20 minutes, forming a delectable glaze.
Share among friends. Serve as an appetizer. Simply enjoy as an indulgence. These bites hold the power to transform an ordinary moment into an extraordinary one.
BBQ Pork Belly Bites
- 4 lbs raw pork belly
- 1.5 tbsp brown sugar
- 1.5 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic granules
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp ground black pepper
- 6 tbsps your favorite BBQ sauce
- Preheat your fan oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Begin by removing the packaging from the pork belly and patting it dry using kitchen paper.
- Cut the pork belly into inch-sized cubes, try and make sure you end with even-sized pieces but there's no need to be too exact.
- In a large bowl, combine all the dry rub ingredients: paprika, brown sugar, garlic granules, salt and black pepper.
- Add the pork cubes to the bowl and massage the dry rub into the meat, covering every cube as best as possible.
- Place the pork cubes onto a large baking tray with a high rim in a single layer.
- Place the baking tray into the preheated oven and roast the pork belly for 1 hour.
- Once the initial hour is done, carefully remove the pork belly from the oven. Coat the roasted pork belly bites with your favorite BBQ sauce, ensuring they are evenly covered. Dispose of any excess fat that may have accumulated during roasting. Make sure to do this carefully to avoid burning yourself.
- Place the BBQ sauce-coated pork belly bites back onto the baking tray and return them to the oven for an additional 20 minutes.
- After the final 20 minutes, take the tray out of the oven again. Serve and enjoy these succulent BBQ Pork Belly Bites.
